The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi has condemned the recent ban on political rallies and convoys by the state government.
The condemnation was communicated by State SDP Chairman, Ahmed Attah, in a statement, signed by the partys Press Secretary, Isaiah Ijele.
Attah described the embargo as an attack on democratic principles, asserting that it was a clear attempt to silence opposition voices.
He urged Governor Ahmed Ododo to learn from the past and avoid repeating harmful practices that had previously hindered the states progress.
His words: The party views this action as an attempt to suppress the freedom of association and movement enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
