A burst water main has flooded an entire road in Wednesbury - causing major disruption. Emergency services remain at the scene in Leabrook Road this afternoon while the local water firm scrambles to fix the issue.
The burst pipe has cut off water supply to dozens of homes in the area. Locals were warned by the fire service to stay away from the road "if possible".
The issue has been going on for several hours. It's understood the road first flooded some time between 7am and 9am today, November 2.

Homes affected
Dozens of homes suffered a water outage this morning after the burst water main flooded Leabrook Road. Mike Claridge, the ecumenical minister at Cotteridge Church, said the water was "six feet deep in places".
The issue was impacting properties in Wednesbury, Bloxwich and Darlaston. Properties in WS3, WS10 and DY4 postcodes were all likely to be affected, said South Staffs Water which supplies water to the area.
Travel
The latest update on traffic website Inrix reads: "A41 Black Country New Road closed in both directions. Delays due to burst water main and flooding from A461 (Navigation Roundabout, Great Bridge) to A461 (Steel Roundabout, Wednesbury. Leabrook Road North and Leabrook Road is also closed."
Wednesbury Parkway also remains flooded. A spokesperson for West Midlands Metro said: "Due to a burst water main, the entrance to the park and ride car park at Wednesbury Parkway is flooded.
"Please use alternative park and ride facilities along our network until further notice."
When will it be fixed?
South Staffs Water did not give a timeframe for when the issue will be fixed. The firm did however confirm this afternoon that the issue had been "isolated".
It said: "The burst main on Leabrook Road, Wednesbury has now been isolated and the next step is fixing the problem. We're working with West Midlands Police and and West Midlands Fire Service in a multi-agency incident response."
A previous statement read: "There is a burst main in Leabrook Road, Wednesbury impacting properties in Wednesbury, Bloxwich & Darlaston. Properties in the WS3, WS10 and DY4 postcodes are likely to be affected.
"Due to the high volume of calls into our call centre, we have diverted staff who normally reply to billing queries and closed our billing line.
"If you have questions about your bill, please visit our website for help. Thanks for your patience whilst we work to resolve the issue, and sorry for the inconvenience."
What has the fire service said?
A fire service drone image has shown the extent of the flooding in Wednesbury. West Midlands Fire Service shared the aerial image this afternoon.
A spokesperson for the service said: "We have several fire crews including Tech Rescue vehicles and High Volume Pumping unit at a major water main burst on Leabrook Road North in Wednesbury.
"The road is completely flooded, so please avoid the area if possible."
