Sokoto United players have been urged to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

The Sokoto State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mustapha Muhammad Kofar Marke, made this known during an unscheduled visit to the team’s training ground on Thursday.

Marke also expressed concern over the rate at which players are leaving the club in search of better opportunities.

I arrived at the training ground as early as possible, wearing a mask to observe the situation firsthand. I do not rely on second-hand reports”I believe in seeing things for myself,” Marke stated during his visit.

It is unfortunate that most of the management members are not actively involved in the selection process. They are not even present on the field.

Our goal is to secure promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL. To achieve this, we must come together and work collectively.

Many of our players have left for various reasons, and we need to fill those gaps as soon as possible. With the mid-season registration window closing soon, we must carefully select the best from both the invited players and our homegrown talents.

Our target is to elevate Sokoto United FC to the NPFL. This can only be achieved through unity, dedication, and teamwork.”
